I was first exposed to David Kibuuka's work in 1990. Two years later, I collected my fist piece ("My Water Calabash"). Today, I consider myself a serious collector of David Kibuuka's work. My collections are displayed in every room of my home. The primary reason I fell in love with David Kibuuka's work is the realism of the art, his ability to draw the viewer in and make them feel a part of the art work. His work has a tendency to make the viewer feel as though they are experiencing whatever is on the canvas, it's almost magical. David Kibuuka's work becomes the topic of conversation of first time visitors to my home and I use the opportunity to educate my family, friends and colleagues of his work and rich heritage that Africa provided him and encourage them to become a collector and experience "Kibuuka" in their own homes. David Kibuuka's work in my home gives the ambiance of warmth, sophistication and serenity. I cannot imagine my home without my "David Kibuuka" collection.

In general, I admire most of the paintings by Kibuuka but have even greater awe for classics such as "Maasai princess", "Hypnotize", "The Harvest" and my fondly own "The Royal Guitarist". The latter was my first acquisition by Kibuuka and opened the way for several additions. My growing collection now includes four master works.
The ambience created by " The Royal Guitarist" is calmingly appealing yet inquisitive. It provokes me to "turn it down a notch" and " smell the roses". It is the only piece I know of that has a contemporary abundance of his genius. It is of little wonder that I consider it to be the most complete of his creations.
The quality of the pencil work rivals what is seen in "The Harvest" , the eyes are as captivating as those in "Hypnotize" and that calmingly appealing yet inquisitive gaze is reminiscent of what one experiences while staring at " The Maasai Princess".
